Eco-Council

The Eco-Council are continuing to work through the Eco-Schools competition.  This term we will be preparing the vegetable beds for planting and deciding what we are going to plant. Our class Eco-monitors are continuing to ensure that no energy is wasted in the classroom, making sure lights and computers are switched off when not in use and that radiators aren’t left on when they’re not needed.

Some of the Eco-Council are visiting the nursery  this week to research the use of a poly-tunnel and help the nursery children with their planting activities.

We have decided to organise a litter-pick every week as over the weekend some rubbish can be blown into the school grounds and we want to keep our school as tidy as possible!

We are continuing to recycle mobile phones for Trocaire, please send any you have to Mrs Cush.

P.5, P.6 and P.7 attended an interactive presentation given by Laurence from Bryson House on the subject of Energy efficiency.  The children learned how to be more energy efficient at home and in school. This event was organised by the School Eco-Council.
