RUDOLPH THE RED NOSE HERO!

On the 18th December, during School hours Miss McSwiggan’s Class acted a play called Finlo The Circus Clown. There were many parts. They worked as a class and managed to pull it off.

On the 21st of November Miss McSwiggan's class began to practice for their Christmas play, Ffinlo the Circus Clown. Miss McSwiggan and Miss Muldoon gave out the parts in the Christmas play. Niamh was the lucky girl who got the main part Ffinlo. The class were given their parts, lines for their play and they also were given their songs. After all that the P5 classes would practice in the Key Stage 1 and 2 Gym. As the big day approached they started to bring in costumes for dress rehearsals.

On the 16th December the class performed their dress rehearsal for the P4's. Finally their class performed for their parents. They felt nervous, but really excited. Despite a few errors like hats falling off and rope rolling up it was a great success. At the end Rudolph found Finlo's nose!

At the end of the play their parents were very proud of their children. A DVD is available of the performance at £5.00 in St Patrick’s Primary School. A collection for St Vincent De Paul was taken at the end of the play. They are thrilled!

Finlo and The Nose That Grows Legs

The Primary Five pupils of  Saint Patrick’s Primary School each put on a Christmas Play. It took place in the Key Stage Two Gym on Thursday the 17th of December  2009 at 10:00 am. It’s about a circus and a VERY upset clown. The Key Stage Two Gym was lit up with all the BEAUTIFUL costumes.

It was Christmas time and the children wanted to show their parents their talents. They also wanted to say thank you for all the people who helped them through out the year. They prepared this play with the help of the teachers, Miss Cassidy, Miss Mc Swiggan and Master Muldoon.

The children loved the attention from the parents. Finlo the clown said, “I loved doing this show and it was fun singing and dancing with all my friends."

Christmas Circus

Master Muldoon’s P5 class outstandingly performed their Christmas play Finlo on Friday the 18th of December at 10am in St Patrick's PS KS2 Gym. It made a magical atmosphere for the Christmas season.

The children of Master Muldoon’s class did this play because it was a tradition. They had a long process to go through before performing for the parents, they firstly volunteered for their parts, and then getting their scripts. They learnt their lines and the songs everyday. They had to use expression and their imaginations. They practiced daily. They had to project their voices, know their lines and actions. They all knew what to do and all they were waiting for were the costumes that Miss Campbell had ordered. When they got their costumes they performed for the P1's, P2's and P4's.They performed like professionals. Finally they performed for their parents; they generously gave money to St Vincent De Paul.

The parents all agreed it was a brilliant performance. Their favourite part was Fergus’s Flying Flee Circus but their favourite character was Mega Mike because he was cool and quite funny. Master Muldoon had this to say, “The play went according to plan they knew their lines and actions. The costumes suited them also they were bright and colourful. I’m sure they're looking forward to the Christmas holidays because I am. "

Cool Class Circus

Master Muldoon’s P.5 pupils performed their Christmas play Finlo, in the KS2 gym on Friday 17th December 2009 at 10am.

Children from Master Muldoon’s class finished a marvellous Christmas play. But firstly he called out the characters and they volunteered for each part. He put their names in a magic hat and got one of the pupils to pick out a name to see who got the part. Soon they got their lines to learn. They went for practices daily in the KS2 and KS1 gym. When they went for practices the teachers said that they had to show expression, to project their voices, to do their actions and to sing out loud. They had to come out at the right at the right time. Excitedly they got their costumes; all of them were very creative.

Next they had a brilliant dress rehearsal and performed in front of the P1, P2 and P4. Patiently they waited until at last they got to do their Christmas play in front of their parents.

Nevertheless, the children's favourite part was when Finlo threw the bucket of water at the parents. All of the parents said the play was very good. Parents thought that the music and the singing were very good. And the costumes were extraordinary. Master Muldoon the class teacher said it took courage do this.

Bard’s Account of the Battle with Smaug

I could see Smaug’s plan was to burn the town. I didn’t care if the Master left, I was going to save the town!

I had fired all my arrows except the Black Arrow.

Suddenly out of the dark something fluttered to my shoulder it was a Thrush from the Rush of Dale.

The Thrush said, “Wait! The moon is rising, look at his left breast for the weak spot!”

I drew my bow to my ear and spoke to my arrow, “I have saved you until last you have never failed me, go now and don’t let me down”

As the dragon swooped I let the arrow go and I waited. A few minutes later it hit Smaug’s left breast and Smaug crashed to the ground with a roar!
