Mrs Hampsey’s P3 Class Visit to Newell Stores, Coalisland
Primary 3 had an amazing time on Monday on their visit to Newell Stores, Coalisland, as part of their World Around Us topic, “Food, Glorious Food!”
Tony gave us a fantastic guided tour of the store, with our very own Mefy stepping up as assistant manager—she did a brilliant job operating the till!
We learned all about different food groups and discovered where in the world some of our favourite foods come from. We chatted with friendly staff in the butchery, deli, fruit and veg section, and hot food counter, asking lots of great questions. We also spoke with the till staff and even had lovely conversations with some customers doing their shopping!
Then we went behind the scenes to explore the warehouse, as well as the giant fridges and freezers.
As part of our visit, Primary 3 took on a fun challenge—finding a food item for every letter in “Newell Stores”! From noodles to strawberries, we filled our alphabet with tasty treats.
To top it all off, we were treated to some delicious surprises from Tony at the end of our tour!
