This week in Numeracy we are learning about the number 6 and making patterns. We used the Numicon spinners for shapes and numerals and played the game using the Feely bag. We watched some videos on pattern on Espresso. It is Maths Week Ireland and we played some fun Numeracy games to celebrate. This week we had even more winners of Mathseeds certificates. Amelia won 3, Lennon and Ellucio won 2 each Well Done Amelia, Lennon and Ellucio! In Play we were printing and stamping some patterns with paint.
In Literacy we listened to a story about 'Winnie The Witch' and we clapped the syllables in Halloween words.
We watched the home school link for 'Name the Pictures' and had 3 new Read Write Inc: sounds: d, t and i.
We listened to a story called 'Don't hog the Hedge' and used scissors to cut along a line. We are continuing to work on our character words in our reading books.
In The World Around Us We were learning about Autumn and we went on our Autumn walk around our school. We could see lots of signs of Autumn. We gathered lots of leaves. We made our own hedgehog pictures with spikes and leaves.
In our Grow in love books we matched some Autumn leaves and and listened to a story about Rusty Squirrels First Autumn.
This week we got to meet Amber and talked again about things that make us feel safe and happy. We had our PE lesson this week with Ella. She played Halloween games with us. We had to be zombies and catch each other. It was fun.
Malachi came to us on Wednesday and he sang the song 'All the leaves are falling down'. He selected brilliant singers to get his special stickers.
Kourtney made a fantastic creation for the Credit Union Competition.
Noah celebrated his birthday. Happy Birthday to Noah.
