A Letter for Parents & Guardians

Dear parents/guardian

I hope everyone is keeping well.

The Minister for Education has granted schools two additional staff development days this academic year.

Following careful consideration, we will use one of these days on Monday 16th March. As a result, the school will be closed to pupils on Monday 16th March and Tuesday 17th March (St Patrick’s Day).

There will be a second additional staff day later in the year. We will confirm the date of this to parents in due course.

The school choir will be travelling to the SSE Arena in Belfast on Sunday 1st March for Peace Proms. If this involves your child, please ensure that your child is at school at 9.20am on Sunday morning with the appropriate lunch and clothes as explained in the letter which was sent out last week. We will be back in school at approx. 4pm.

World Book Day will be celebrated on Thursday 5th March and children may dress up as their favourite book character if they wish. This is optional.

We will celebrate Green Day on Friday 13th March for St. Patrick’s Day and children can dress up in green to celebrate.

Primary 5 children will be performing their St. Patrick’s Day Pageant on Friday 13th and parents are very welcome to attend at the following times.

Mrs Maguires Class – 10am

Mr Gallagher’s Class – 11am

Miss McCullagh’s Class – 12noon

Mr Meenagh’s Class – 1.45pm.

We have had several complaints from residents who live beside the school about cars parking across gates, on roadways and even in their private drives. I would ask all parents to please respect the residents’ rights to be able to access their houses safely and not to park in a way that causes disruption.

Thank you for your continued support.

Best wishes

Seamus McCreesh

Principal
