Maths learning is evident in every area of play in the Nursery. Resources are carefully selected with this in mind. This week we had circle collage at the art and craft and old CD rooms in the construction area to consolidate this learning. The children enjoyed seeing the triangle shaped eyes carved in the pumpkin. At the sand and water tray we hear the language of capacity - full and empty. Building train tracks has been popular and the language of length - long and short is used. At the small world farm set you can see the animals being sorted. The Halloween home corner provided the children with opportunities to count out items to put into their spooky spells. Lots of maths books and puzzles are on display in the Nursery also.
