This week in Literacy we were learning the sounds for 'z' and 'ch'. We listened to a story on Oxford Owl called 'Big Bad Bug'. Our 2 new keywords were you and they. We played some games on initial sounds. We made a list of our favourite places that were up the town and created a class bar graph. We are beginning to get our certificates for using our fast phonics program so remember to use this at home too.
In Numeracy we were learning about the number 10. We sang the song for number 10, using the At the Seaside e-book. We continued to work practically using the balance scales for weighing. Lots of children won certificates for great use of their mathseeds, well done! We talked about position using practical objects. We played a games with the numicon pegs and we had to guess how many and then check our guess by using the pegs on the number track.
We had P.E. with Ella on Tuesday and some children won her special stickers. On Friday we will have our assembly and 2 children will receive their star pupil award certificate. Look out for the photographs.
