Getting ready for our Easter holidays

24th Mar 2026

This week in Numeracy, we are learning about the number 15 and direction. We are learning about teen numbers and making trains with the number rods.  We are now using the + (plus/addition), and the = (equals/makes) symbols when reading our addition problems.

In Literacy, we are learning about the letter p and our keyword is 'on'. We continued our work on The Very Hungry Caterpillar and watched as our caterpillars changed into a chrysalis.    We used clicker 8 to make some sentences and continued on our word time using the magnetic letters.

In Art and Craft, we made some Easter baskets with Miss O'Neill and created chicks and bunnies for the Easter display.  In the World Around Us, we talked about the life cycle of the butterfly and we were able to bring our cress seeds home.

We had our Happy Healthy Kids lesson with Caolan and he played some fun games with us.  Caolan chose, 3 boys and 3 girls who got his special stickers.

Look out for more photos towards the end of the week.

This Friday we will be having a jumble sale in school so remember to bring some change.

Please return any Oxford Reading Tree books that maybe at home by Friday. If there are any outstanding library books that need to be returned, please send them back to school before the end of the term.

We sadly say 'Goodbye' to Miss O'Neill this week.  She has been an asset in the classroom and the children have gained so much from her support. We will all miss her. We wish her every success as she finishes her year at St Mary's College.

Next week we hope to make some chocolates nests with the children and continue with our Spring/Easter work.

Thank you for all your support working with the children this Term.
