Primary 6 Afterschool Club - United Youth Initiative

3rd Sep 2025

Dear Parent/Guardian,

We are delighted to let you know that your Primary 6 child has the opportunity to take part in an exciting new programme through Healthy Kidz called United Youth Initiative. This project brings together young people from different community backgrounds through a range of engaging activities, including:

  • Sports sessions designed to encourage teamwork, confidence, and fitness.
  • Good relations activities helping pupils to build friendships and mutual understanding.
  • Environmental aspects that promote care for our local surroundings.

The programme will run as part of an afterschool Shared Education slot, bringing together two classes from both St Patricks PS and Dungannon PS. Sessions will take place every Wednesday afternoon from 3pm–5pm, beginning on Wednesday 17th September and continuing for 12 weeks at Dungannon Leisure Centre, with a trip included at the end of 12 weeks!

Coaches will walk all participants from school to the venue. At the end of each session, we kindly ask parents/guardians to collect their child from Dungannon Leisure Centre at 5pm.

We are pleased to confirm that the programme is completely free of charge and is open exclusively to P6 pupils.

We believe this is a fantastic opportunity for your young person/s to make new friends, develop skills, and enjoy fun, meaningful activities in a safe and supportive environment.

If you would like your child to take part, please complete the following registration link, this will be followed by an email confirming Your Young Person's place and anymore information needed before commencing.
