Working hard in Primary 1

1st Oct 2025

This week in Numeracy we were learning about the number 4 using numicon shapes and our pupil counting sticks. We were sorting by type, we had to match and stick. We continued to log onto our mathseeds on the i-Pads.
In Literacy we were clapping the syllables for Autumn words and learning to stay on the line with a correct pencil grip. We were using the scissors and learning to cut along straight and curved lines. We talked a little about Kipper and his visit to the hairdressers. We played a game with the dice to help us recognise the character names.
Malachi came to sing songs with us and we sang some new songs: Incy, Wincy, Spider, We all stand up together, Twinkle twinkle little star and If you're happy and you know it, clap your hands. It was fun.
In PE we played musical statues and did a slow jog to warm up. During the lesson we made movements with high knees. We played the traffic light game. Then we cooled down.  Eysleen and Ellucio won Niamh's special stickers.
We talked about signs of Autumn and how things change.  We are using our visual timeline in the classroom to help us understand what comes next during the day.
The photographer came to the school and he took our class photograph.
Please remember to return the homework folders and library books on Friday so that we can send another book home.
