SPSC1 Weekly Round-Up

What a very busy and exciting week we have had in SPSC1!

This week, we explored “What’s in My Bucket?” where we learned all about different kitchen utensils. We talked about what they are called, what they look like, and what we use them for when cooking.

In cookery, we made some delicious buns and also planned our own healthy meals. Later in the week, we made our very own salads, carefully cutting cheese, tomatoes, carrots, and cucumbers using our fantastic cutting skills.

We have also been very creative by making pizzas with play dough and designing beautiful Pop Art pieces which are now brightening up our classroom window.

In Maths, we have been learning about fractions, including whole objects, halves, and quarters. We practised sharing objects into halves and quarters and used our cutting skills throughout the week to help us understand this.

PE was lots of fun as we took part in athletics activities and worked on our running, jumping, and throwing skills.

We are continuing to develop our phonics and number skills every day and are working so hard.

On Thursday, Emma came in for Speech and Language and we had brilliant fun taking part in all the activities.

We are also becoming more independent in class. Our new classroom routine is washing our own dishes after snack time, and everyone is doing a fantastic job.

Well done to all the children for another wonderful week!
