SPSC1 Summer 1 Term
What a fantastic week we’ve had in SPSC1.
We had lots of fun creating our own sensory bags using rice and food colouring. This was a great hands-on activity that the boys really enjoyed exploring.
In maths, we have been focusing on division, learning how to share objects into equal parts. The boys did a brilliant job understanding how to divide and share fairly.
PE was a highlight as always. We have been developing our skills through games with Healthy Kids, building teamwork, coordination and confidence.
In literacy, our focus this term is The Very Hungry Caterpillar. We have been exploring colours, fruits and vegetables, linking our learning to the colours of the rainbow. The boys especially enjoyed tasting a variety of colourful fruits.
We have also been working on sensory play, sorting colours and matching pieces by screwing them into the correct places, helping to develop fine motor skills and colour recognition.
In art, the boys created beautiful oil pastel marble-effect paintings, showing great creativity and care in their work.
We had a brilliant time in music this week with Malachy. The boys are really enjoying singing and always look forward to his sessions.
Bucket time with Mrs Bolger brought lots of smiles and helped to develop attention and engagement.
To finish the week, we enjoyed cookery on Friday where the boys made their own “Hungry Caterpillar” smoothies. They chopped their fruit, added their ingredients and watched everything blend together.
A busy and enjoyable week for everyone. Well done boys.
