SPSC1 Weekly Round-Up — December, Week 2
This week has been full of hands-on learning and festive fun!
Our younger boys enjoyed developing their fine motor skills by cutting shapes out of playdough, exploring lines of symmetry as they cut shapes in half. The older boys extended this learning by working on fractions, building confidence in identifying halves and other simple fractional parts.
In cookery, the children had a wonderful time making reindeer cupcakes, carefully following steps and decorating their creations with excitement.
Art was especially creative this week. We constructed gingerbread houses and made sheep models, allowing the boys to express their imagination while practising key craft skills.
We also explored science across different areas of the curriculum. The children learned about the life cycle of a caterpillar, discussing each stage from egg to butterfly. In WAU and Science, the boys had great fun investigating sinking and floating, predicting, testing, and observing how different objects behaved in water.
The boys are looking forward to their Christmas play on Monday
