SPSC1 weekly round up- March week 2
We’ve had another busy and exciting week in SPSC1, filled with lots of learning, creativity and fun!
? Literacy & Play-Based Learning
Our story focus this week was Goldilocks and the Three Bears. The boys loved exploring the story through hands-on activities. In our tuff tray, we worked on a colourful bear sorting activity, grouping the bears by colour and building early problem-solving and language skills. We also had great fun making porridge in the tuff tray, retelling parts of the story while exploring textures and imaginative play.
? Maths
Our younger boys have been working hard on counting numbers 1–10, using practical resources and games to build confidence. Meanwhile, our older boys have been focusing on column addition, practising careful layout and developing their understanding step by step.
??? PE
We had great fun during PE this week with Healthy Kids, enjoying lots of active games and developing our coordination and teamwork skills.
? St Patrick’s Day Celebrations
We celebrated Green Day in style! The boys enjoyed visiting P5 to watch their wonderful St Patrick’s Day pageant, and we also had lots of fun trying some Irish dancing back in class.
? Cookery & Literacy Links
In cookery, we made delicious sandwich skewers, practising our fine motor skills and making healthy choices. We then linked this to literacy by exploring different verbs we could use to give instructions, focusing on using “bossy verbs” in our writing.
It has been a fantastic week full of learning and laughter.
? Happy St Patrick’s Day everyone – we hope you all enjoy a lovely break!
