SPSC1 Weekly Round up 1st-5th June 2026

5th Jun 2026

What a busy and enjoyable week we have had in SPSC1!

The younger boys have been learning about day and night, exploring the differences between the two and discussing what happens during each part of the day.

In Art, the younger boys created their own beautiful tree pictures, while the older boys took part in a Science activity where they planted seeds using cotton wool in clear bags. These were placed on the classroom window so that the boys can observe the seeds germinating and watch their trees begin to grow over the coming weeks.

In Numeracy, the younger boys explored the number 7 using Numicon, helping them develop their understanding of number through practical activities.

Our PE session on Tuesday was great fun. The boys worked hard on developing their balance skills and showed fantastic effort throughout.

Everyone enjoyed taking part in a giant game of Mega Snakes and Ladders, encouraging turn-taking and social interaction.

The boys explored the letter ‘N’ through our tuff tray activities, with a particular focus on nestsand related vocabulary.

We also used thread and fine motor activities to practise our CVC words, helping to strengthen both literacy and pencil-control skills.

Bucket Time returned this week and, as always, was thoroughly enjoyed by all the boys.

On Thursday, we attended Assembly. Well done to all the boys who received certificates. They also enjoyed singing with Malachy and Mrs Jordan.

We finished the week with a special cookery session, making delicious homemade pancakes topped with Nutella and marshmallows. The boys had great fun preparing and enjoying their treats!

Have a lovely weekend everyone!
