SPSC1 Weekly roundup 8-12th June 2026
What a fantastic week we’ve had in SPSC1.
On Monday, we explored The Very Hungry Caterpillar using our tuff tray. The boys enjoyed using the story to help develop their counting skills through a range of practical activities.
Our outdoor water tray was very popular this week, providing lots of opportunities for sensory exploration, imaginative play and collaborative learning.
In art, we used different shapes to create paintings and later in the week showed great creativity by using old flowers and branches to make our own unique trees.
We checked on the seeds we had planted and were excited to see they had started to grow roots. The boys carefully transplanted them into soil so they can continue to develop.
Sports Day was a wonderful success. The boys had a brilliant time taking part in the activities and were delighted to show their parents the skills and talents they have been developing.
In our “nest” area, the boys used alphabet magnets to practise building CVC words, supporting their phonics and early reading skills.
The boys also enjoyed visiting the P7 mini businesses, where they had great fun purchasing items and learning about enterprise.
Our younger boys used Numicon to support counting to 10, helping to develop their confidence with number recognition and early maths skills.
To finish the week, we made flapjacks during Cookery Friday. The boys explored the different textures of the ingredients before and after cooking and thoroughly enjoyed tasting their delicious creations.
It has been another busy and enjoyable week full of learning, creativity and fun. Well done to all the boys for their enthusiasm and hard work.
