Well done to all the boys and girls in Mrs Devine's class. You deserve a good rest over mid-term break.
This week we were learning the sound for the letter i and revising all our speed sounds. Our keyword this week was to. We got a new reading book and we are learning the words that appear in our books. We are using our sounds to help us tackle unfamiliar words. We listened to a story called 'My Mum' and 'You'll soon grow into them Titch'. We continued to work on the 'Jack and the Beanstalk' story. Miss O Neill helped us to create some art for our Spring/Very Hungry Caterpillar display. We have some caterpillars in our class and we are going to watch them grow over time.
We continued to use JIT5 to create our digital pictures for the very hungry caterpillar.
In Numeracy we were working on the number 13 and practical addition.
We were talking about our school crest and how our school is named after St Patrick. We had a special from a lady called Mrs Mc Cooe and we sang some songs for her. We all were wearing something green for our 'Green Day' to celebrate St Patrick's Day which is on Tuesday 17th March. Look our for the photos to follow. We went to the Computer Suite on Monday and we worked on our fast phonics and Mathseeds assignments.
Congratulations to the boys and girls who won their Mathseeds certificates this week.
Continue to work hard on your assignments at home.
Well done to Milessa who prepared so well for the girls singing at the Feis. We loved listened to you every day in class. You have a lovely sweet voice.
Thank you for all support. Enjoy the midterm break and we will see you all back at school on Wednesday 18th March.
Happy St Patricks Day to you all.
