Back at school in Primary 1
This week in Numeracy we are learning about the number 8. We played memory match games and listened to the song on our Numicon-At the Seaside e-book. We were learning to read and write the numerals 1 and 2. We played with the number rods and talked about them. We explored more pattern making and some children were able to make patterns of their own. We also used the numeral/shape numicon spinners to 10. Some children won more mathseeds certificates this week, well done to all these boys and girls.
In Literacy we were learning the sounds for the letters n, p and g. We listened to the Owl Babies story using the story sack. We were learning about the odd one out and played Choose It Maker. We tried putting some Read Write Inc sounds together to make set 1 green words. We continued to learn how to write our names.
On Friday we are bringing our favourite toys into school.
We sorted a set of toys for those that we play with indoors and those that we use outdoors.
In Religion we talked about remembering those who have died for the month of November.
In Circle Time we will be talking about People who help us and keep us safe.
We sang a song called My Turn, your Turn and bounced the Teddy to take turns and pass on.
In P.E. we warmed up with musical statues and had to find our own spaces. We started some gymnastics in our lessons this week. We played the Flamingo Tag game where we had to balance on one foot if we were tagged. It was tricky. We also played relay races again.
Look out for more photos to come towards the end of the week.
Congratulations to all the boys and girls who got a certificate for being at school every day during the month of October.
Well done P1, keep up all the hard work.
