P5 Swimming Lessons
(Please use the translate bar above should you need to)
Dear Parents and Guardians,
Our P5 classes have been enjoying their swimming lessons as part of the PE curriculum. Swimming is a really important life skill and is a compulsory part of the Northern Ireland PE Curriculum.
The school covers the cost of lessons and transport so that every child can take part. We’ve noticed that a few children have been sitting out recently, and we’d like to remind families that these lessons are not optional. The only reason a child should not take part in lessons is if they are unwell.
We really encourage all pupils to take part — swimming helps build confidence, keeps children active, and teaches vital water safety skills. Unless there’s a medical reason (and we’ve been informed), all children should be attending their swimming sessions.
Thank you for your support in helping every child make the most of this valuable experience!
Kind regards,
S McCreesh
