LEGO-based therapy

8th Mar 2023

LEGO-Based Therapy is a social development programme that uses LEGO activities to support the development of a wide range of social skills within a group setting.

Playing with LEGO in a therapy setting promotes social interaction, turn-taking skills, sharing, collaborative problem-solving and the learning of new concepts.  It can be used to target goals around social skills, language and motor skills.

Pupils in Mrs McCrory's class completed their LEGO-Based Therapy session based on St Patrick's Day.  They developed their language skills (in both giving and receiving instructions), negotiating, and problem solving.  This activity encouraged the children to reflect on their own actions and skills.

Well done, everyone!
